2015 Pinot Noir-library wine

A terroir-driven Pinot Noir with aromas of cherry, raspberry, forest floor, wet stone and tea leaves.  Medium-bodied with palate-cleansing acidity and light tannins.  Lingering flavors of the shale-heavy soil at its roots. We recommend decanting or aerating this wine prior to service.  Drink now or cellar 5-8 years.

Harvest notes:  A warm September led to decreased acidity and ripe flavors in the grapes.  100% estate grapes, 16-31-year-old vines.  Grapes were hand harvested in September 2015.

Winemaker notes:  Aged in old French oak barrels for 10 months; average barrel age 8 years.  Bottled in July 2016.

Wine Spectator--87 points--"Bright, high-pitched blood orange and damson plum fruit is laced with light cinnamon and forest floor hints. Modest in scale but has charm.”
