2017 Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir

Its delicate pink color is reminiscent of a Finger Lakes sunset. Truly dry, crisp and refreshing. Aromas of freshly-squeezed ruby grapefruit and raspberry lead to crisp acidity on the palate and flickers of minerality. This wine has enough backbone to cleanse the palate while dining, but is soft enough to drink on its own.  

Pairing suggestions: surprisingly versatile–pair with shrimp, salad, pizza or contemplate while watching the sunset

Dry Rose 2017 is made from 100% estate grapes, 17-33 year-old vines.  2017 was very rainy early on, but warm and sunny weather reigned for the last two months of the growing season.  Intensive hands-on vineyard management, hand-picking and sorting resulted in an excellent quality juice for making rose wine.

From Winemaker Paul Brock:  "This wine was made with a combination of techniques, including saignée (“bleeding” some juice off the red Pinot Noir fermentation) and direct-to-press (in which red grapes are pressed into juice and some color from the skins is allowed to extract during pressing).  Most of the juice was fermented in stainless steel, but a fraction was fermented in neutral oak and underwent malolactic fermentation in order to soften and broaden the texture."
